About UND Life Sciences

Advancing lipid-based research for difficult-to-treat diseases

About UND Life Sciences

UND Life Sciences is a privately held biotech company founded in 2007 with a focus on developing lipid-based therapeutic approaches for difficult-to-treat diseases. Our research centers on understanding how specific fatty acids may affect disease processes and developing practical approaches to deliver these compounds where they're needed. We are committed to rigorous scientific development and appropriate regulatory processes as we advance our programs. UND Life Sciences focuses on the role of essential fatty acids (EFAs) and their metabolites in the pathobiology of diabetes mellitus (DM), diabetic retinopathy (DR), glioblastoma multiforme (glioma), sepsis, lupus and antibiotic resistance of bacteria and other organisms.

About the Inventor and CEO: The original research (both lab based and human studies) performed by Dr. Undurti N Das, MD, FAMS, FRSC for the past 35 years forms the basis of the portfolio of UND Life Sciences. His work formed the basis of 5 issued USA and 3 issued Indian patents. Dr. Das is also the author of more than 600 research publications and authored 4 books and co-edited three books on Autism. He contributed chapters to several books. He has more than 550 publications. 17 students got their PhD under his guidance and he mentored many MD students.

Founder & Scientific Leadership

Dr. Undurti N. Das

President, CEO & CSO — UND Life Sciences

Dr. Undurti N. Das founded UND Life Sciences in 2007 to develop lipid-based therapeutic approaches for diseases including cancer and inflammatory disorders. His original laboratory and human research spanning more than three decades forms the scientific foundation of the company’s portfolio.

His work has contributed significantly to understanding how fatty acids and lipid mediators influence disease processes, particularly inflammation, angiogenesis, metabolic disorders, neurological conditions, and cancer biology.

Dr. Das is the author of more than 500 research publications, multiple scientific books, several patents, and has mentored numerous PhD and MD students throughout his academic and scientific career.
